Yoseikan-Ryu Karate Maylands

I started at Yoseikan having come from another club and different style of martial arts. The community of karateka were immediately welcoming, and supportive with my goals and helping me settle in. There are so many classes each week to choose from, and every single one of them are varied and interesting. There’s so much for higher grades in each class to work on and the attention to detail from the instructors has been fantastic! Ive see some of the kids classes run, and they are set at the kids level, yet still teaching traditional concepts. The instructors have extensive knowledge of karate methods and application, and clearly really care about the art. Overall I have found the focus is on a range of things from short term goals, to tournaments and long term goal setting, making the journey one that feels like you are making progress! About 3 months ago, as a not very fit 40yr old, and dad of 2 (5yrs & 11yrs old), I decided I really needed to do something for my fitness and also spend time with my kids, and help them build their confidence. I was excited about starting Karate however worried that Karate would be too intense or stern, but it turns out - I need not have worried.Jon and Anita are very highly qualified instructors, and they make alot of effort to make it fun and friendly for all ages. The rest of the team and students are great people to meet and learn with also.It's been easy to commit to such a supportive and great club. As I'd hoped at the start Jon and Anita have safely helped us grow stronger, more confident, and I'm sure what we are learning now will stay with us in later life too!

I highly recommend Yoseikan-Ryu Maylands karate club. My son has been training here for years and he enjoys every training sessions. He learned a lot from his instructors. This club is family friendly. I myself joined this club recently and the experience is so amazing. The instructors Jon, Anita and Mark are great. They teach kids in a fun learning way. My son and I loves training with them.

I have two sons who started training at Yoseikan-Ryu Karate about 3 years ago, and they are still there! The chief instructors, Jon and Anita, and all of the other instructors are amazing at teaching the students. There is an an awesome atmosphere, with an excellent balance between taking the training seriously whilst still making it fun. The students' physical building together with the discipline and mental building is absolutely fantastic. My boys will continue doing karate for many years to come, and I can't wait until they get their black belts!

I found Yoseikan-Ryu on Google search and brought my kids for a trial lesson. My kids love it! John is great with children and very good in implementing fun and discipline into the training. Highly recommend it.

Our little girl had her first karate lesson recently and couldn't of had more fun! So much joy, excitement and fun all in one place. Jon and Anita are incredibly welcoming and have created a community of amazing people. i cant wait to join up myself!

My child has been doing Karate with Jon and Anita for 2 years. They are kind, patient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They accommodate kids with different abilities and personality types harmoniously. Karate has benefited my child’s confidence, agility and strength.

I've been going here for over 4 years and have loved every second of it. I have gained new skills and have made friends along the way. The Instructors Sensei Jon and Sensei Anita are wonderful and very supportive people dedicated to their students pushing us to our best.While training the classes are fun while still learning and honing new skills such as balance, strength, coordination and loads more.I highly recomend trying regardless of age.
